Ingredients:
1 granny smith apples, cored and sliced
150ml sparkling water, chilled
100ml apple juice (no-added sugar)
2 tbsp low-fat plain greek yogurt
1/2 cup ice cubes
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1 scoop (30g) protein powder, vanilla
1/4 tsp ginger, grated
1 tsp flaxseed meal
Step 1: place all ingredients except the sparkling water into a blender and process on high.
Step 2: remove lid, add sparkling water, pulse blend until smooth.
Step 3: pour into a chilled glass, garnish with cinnamon and serve
Tip:
• adding sparkling water after blending is essential. it helps minimise the pressure from the carbon dioxide when the blades spin. make sure to place your hand firmly on the blender when blending.
• you can substitute granny smith apples with other varieties.
